The sarong is a traditional Indonesian garment consisting of a long cotton band that is expertly tied at the waist to create a wrap effect in which the overlapping layers interact with each other until they fall to the ankles.
The print features a large bouquet of stylized dahlias inspired by impressionist painting. This iconic flower from the Lisa Corti archive, hand-painted in India using the block technique, is highlighted here in all its beauty against a rich, solid-color background.
